Kathy believes that the co-founding of Music That Heals in 1997…”started me on a musical and vocational journey with a mission to provide professional, musical performances to ill children and adults. Since its inception, Music That Heals has become my daily passion. The program is a life journey for me, and a way to bring joy to the world through music—in some of the most unexpected places. It’s an ongoing process, finding, auditioning and selecting new musicians who fit the program’s parameters, as well as writing grant proposals and adding new healthcare facilities that will receive service from the organization.”
Kathy Lord is also the holder of two U.S. patents, one for a unique percussion implement called Wood-Whack Drumsticks and the other for a percussion practice assembly. Wood-Whack Drumsticks were sold worldwide for 11 years.
