Spend the afternoon with the Mostly Modern Orchestra, featuring maestro David Amado. Music includes brand-new works including Robert Paterson’s Celestial Harmonics and Stephen Cabell’s Symphony: Transmutation as well as Alban Berg’s exciting Violin Concerto, and Samuel Barber’s Medea’s Meditation and Dance of Vengeance.

Join us as we celebrate American composers and America’s first female conductor of a major orchestra, Maestro JoAnn Falletta of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Native New Yorker and Artistic Director (and now Saratoga Springs resident), Robert Paterson brings us the world premiere of his cinematic and colorful Journey of a Dragonfly.
Strike up the Band — this program showcases star power, featuring the Mostly Modern Brass! Regulars at the New York City Ballet, Chicago Symphony, Carnegie Hall, and Hollywood Bowl are just a couple name-drops, worthy of total admiration. Works include classical standards, two brand-new works from two of our ‘Mostly Modern’ composers, and Zwilich’s Oboe Concerto, featuring one of the two winners of our annual MMF Concerto Competition.
