20th Century Vocal Music

This program will explore vocal repertoire form the first half of the 20th century, including Poulenc’s La courte paille, and selections of songs by Erich Korngold and Florence Price, as well as more contemporary music by composers such as Isabelle Aloukbar, John Metcalf, Chris DeBlasio, Jeff Blumenkranz, and Mostly Modern Composer & Artistic Director Robert Paterson.

The program will explore a number of styles and approaches to vocal writing, and will be a fantastic opportunity to hear engaging and lesser-known works in addition to beloved 20th century classics.
