Tuition Includes:
MMF Institute—
- Performing in three orchestral programs with the Mostly Modern Orchestra (MMO).
- Lessons and coachings with faculty. Private lessons are 55 minutes each, 1 per week.
- One all-access pass to everything at the festival.
- Perform in chamber concerts.
- Instrumentalists receive an archival audio WAV file and a link to a three-camera-shot video of their chamber work performances via the Mostly Modern Projects YouTube channel.
- Audition for the Mostly Modern Concerto Competition.
- Welcome Party, Opening and Closing night parties!
Room And Board—
- Room for three weeks in either Wiecking Hall or Kimball Hall, single room occupancy.

Scholarships, Work Study, and Resident Advisor (RA) positions are available. These options may be selected during the application process.

NEW THIS YEAR: String Quartet fellowship
- Get up to 20 minutes at Zankel Music Center to showcase or perform anything written 1900 onwards.
- Receive private lessons from performance faculty and one-on-one coaching with guest string quartet.
- Optional: audition for Concerto Competition (choose a work 20th Century onward). 2 winners chosen to perform with the Mostly Modern Orchestra in the following season. String Quartet can audition in Competition with a string quartet concerto or individually as soloists.
- Play 3 orchestra concerts in the section: perform alongside top faculty from NYC and across the country.
- Access to all masterclasses, and a VIP pass to everything; including the welcome picnic, opening and closing night parties.
- If selected, the string quartet gets a fellowship, tuition-free attendance for 3 weeks (each member must pay the admin/facility fee) – this includes room and board with three meals a day on campus.
