American Modern Orchestra with Maestro Ward Stare

  • Arthur Zankel Music Center 815 N Broadway Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 United States (map)

Our final concert of the season concludes with the American Modern Orchestra, featuring upstate New York’s Rochester Philharmonic conductor, Ward Stare. Violinist Bradley Adam Bascon, winner of Mostly Modern’s concerto competition, will perform Korngold’s Violin Concerto.

We start off the program with Robert Paterson’s Dark Mountains. Featured on NPR’s Performance Today with JoAnn Falletta and the Buffalo Philharmonic in 2018, Dark Mountains has been performed by the Austin Symphony, Vermont Symphony, Delaware Symphony, Louisville and countless others.

The Austin American-Statesman writes, “Paterson has been making headway with the grassroots support of regional orchestras, especially adventurous ones like Louisville and Albany, who have played his work…making this this a highly eclectic and successful work.”

Mostly Modern’s ‘winner’ of our orchestra reading will have its premiere, and we end the season with John Adam’s iconic Harmonielehre.

Wine, Beer & Snack Bar opens @ 7 PM. $6 Drinks make this the best deal in Saratoga Springs!
